In January 2026, LEGO® Education announced LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI, a new hands-on learning solution designed to bring computer science and AI literacy to students in Grades K–8. The solution includes three grade-banded kits (K–2, 3–5, and 6–8), each featuring LEGO® bricks, interactive hardware, and 30 standards-aligned, inquiry-based lessons that guide students through core CS concepts including sequences, loops, conditionals, variables, and AI and data. Developed in response to research showing that more than half of teachers globally feel current resources leave students disengaged, the kits emphasize collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity — with students working together in groups of four rather than individually on devices. A key priority is student privacy: the companion LEGO® Education Coding Canvas app runs entirely locally, requires no student login, and never transmits data or images to outside parties. Teachers receive comprehensive instructional materials through a free online Teacher Portal, making it straightforward to integrate CS and AI education into existing curricula. LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI is set to begin shipping globally in April 2026.
